The M600 series from Smart Technologies is the next generation of its widely successful 600 series interactive whiteboard. Available in the 77 inch diagonal M680 and the 85 inch diagonal M685, the M600 Smartboards are easier to use and more functional than ever. The M680 (4:3 aspect ratio) will be replacing the SB680 while the M685 (16:10 aspect ratio) will be replacing the SB685.
The SMART Board M600 offers an evolution for the world's best-selling interactive whiteboard in Education. The inclusion of the award-winning SMART Notebook™ collaborative learning software, dual touch capabilities and gesture control offers a truly engaging and collaborative experience for the classroom.
The most noticeable difference is the writing surface. These boards have a hard coated, steel backed surface which is optimized for projection and compatible with dry erase markers. In addition, the board is no longer pressure sensitive. It uses Smart’s DViT technology to make the board multi-touch compatible with support for two touch points. This makes for a very durable product with no electronics in the surface. It is even compatible with Mac and Windows gesturing, allowing you to take full advantage of the latest operating systems.
The M600 boards also have a revised pen tray. No longer do they ship with the four coloured pens and auto detection. Instead you get 2 pens, with colour select buttons built into the tray, as well as right click and on screen keyboard buttons. This means you can use the pen, or your finger, and not have to worry about the pen being in the proper slot. You can also press the colour select buttons on the pen tray to change colours, or use the on screen tool bar.
Multi-touch – Two users can simultaneously write, perform mouse functions, erase, manipulate and move objects on the interactive whiteboard surface ensuring a collaborative teacher / student experience.
Gesture Recognition – Use simple, intuitive hand and finger gestures to toss, rotate or zoom in on objects and interact within SMART Notebook software
SMART Notebook – Award-winning software enabling teachers to create dynamic and engaging lessons. A large gallery, a wealth of tools and features enhance any activity, bringing it to life in the digital classroom. SMART Exchange offers access to over 60,000 pieces of digital content.
